Braces are beautiful, and there are many options available.Your first visit to our orthodontics office enables us to meet each other and share our thoughts, plans, and goals for improving your smile.

What to expect
You will be greeted by Susan, our receptionist. Jaye, our office manager, is there to help. Traci, our treatment coordinator, will visit with you and familiarize you with the exciting possibilities in orthodontics today. We will take digital photos and a digital  panoramic x-ray as a screening reference during our visit. You will be provided with copies to take home. Dr. Cotterell will do an exam and outline a plan of care, sharing treatment options, timing, and techniques available for optimum results.

We offer new technology "self-ligating" brackets, promising greater comfort and a shorter treatment time. We prefer to avoid the extraction of permanent teeth: this approach is more conservative and maintains a prettier smile and nicer facial balance as patients mature.

Becoming familiar with your desires and answering your questions is an important part of this initial appointment. Early detection in growing children offers the opportunity for supervision and interceptive care when needed. We can often influence eruption of the permanent teeth, and jaw growth in a positive way, if the child is evaluated around age 7 .

Financial options
Traci is happy to discuss financial options and insurance benefits with you. Fees are based on treatment time and severity of the problem. We offer In-Office Payment Plans and Care Credit. As treatment coordinator, Traci helps Dr. Cotterell communicate with your general dentist and facilitates the start of your exciting adventure in orthodontics!
